TRANIMAL WORKSHOP is a, A COLLABORATION BETWEEN AUSTIN YOUNG, SQUEAKY BLONDE,FADE-DRA, AND THE PUBLIC, IS A PARTICIPATORY ART EVENT WHERE GALLERY OR MUSEUM ATTENDEES ARE INVITED TO GO THROUGH A CONVEYER BELT OF ARTISTS AND BECOME THE ART.  TRANIMAL WORKSHOP CHANGES THE WAY YOU CONSIDER GENDER, BEAUTY AND IDENTITY.  I came up with the concept of Tranimal Workshop in 2008 - when Saskia Wilson Brown and I created a film series called "Ultra Fabulous, Beyond Drag' as part of the Silver Lake Film Festival. I've always been interested in the more transgressive side of gender performance and as part of the festival we created 'Tranimal' as a participatory artwork/workshop at Machine Project Gallery in Los Angeles.

“The results were not pretty, but filthy gorgeous. We deduced how one becomes a tranimal. First, you need fishnet stockings in a bright-colored hue—or nude stockings. This goes over your head, bank robber style. If you are using the fishnet they cut holes for eyes, ears, and nose, and sometimes mouth. If you are using the hose, they paint you a whole new face over the top which is totally creepy.” - BLACKBOOK MAGAZINE, 2008
